Where It Began
Casa Vietri began long before there was a name for it.
It began on a warm afternoon in Southern Italy, wandering narrow streets with no agenda other than to explore. We’re Nick and Vita — partners in life, drawn to places, objects and craftsmanship that feel undeniably right the moment you see them.
On the Amalfi Coast, we found something that stopped us.
Lava stone tables. Solid slabs of volcanic stone, shaped and painted by hand. Heavy. Grounded. Built to sit outside under open skies — not protected from the elements, but made for them. Their surfaces carried movement, depth and colour you simply don’t get from factory production.
You could see the hand of the artisan in every detail. You could feel generations of craft behind it.
When Everything Changed
The Decision
That was the moment. Not a business plan — a decision. We knew we had to bring this to Australia.
We didn’t want a version of it. Not “inspired by”. Not adapted. The real thing — made in Italy, the way it has been for decades.

The Craft
Today, Casa Vietri works directly with artisans who craft each tabletop from solid 3 cm volcanic lava stone sourced from Mount Etna. Each piece is kiln-fired, creating a surface that resists UV exposure, heat and weather — ideal for the Australian climate.

Authentic Italian Craftsmanship
Every Casa Vietri table is handcrafted in Italy using traditional techniques passed down through generations. We work directly with artisans in Vietri sul Mare who paint and finish each piece by hand over several weeks — no printing, no decals, no factory production. Every table carries the mark of the people who made it and reflects a level of craftsmanship that cannot be replicated through mass production.
Solid Materials. Built to Endure.
We use solid volcanic lava stone sourced from Mount Etna and handcrafted wrought iron — no veneers, composites or shortcuts. Dense, stable and naturally durable, lava stone offers exceptional structural strength for long-term outdoor use. Fired at high temperatures, the glazed surface becomes highly resistant to UV exposure, heat, moisture and everyday wear, making each table ideal for the Australian climate.
